Become an IntoTech mentor.
Do you work in tech? Your experience could inspire someone’s future.
If you work in software development, cyber security, artificial intelligence, data & analytics, technical IT, or digital marketing, you already have the knowledge and experience to make a real difference for a young person.
Become an IntoTech mentor and help a young person discover where a future in tech could take them.
Because your career journey, your experiences and everything you’ve learned along the way can give a young person something a careers website never can: real insight from someone who’s actually been there.
Mentor a young person aged 14–16 online for just 1–2 hours a week, with training and support from Brightside.
You know things a career website can’t teach.

What’s it actually like to work in tech?
Share the everyday reality of your role, the challenges, the opportunities and the things no job description tells you.

How did you get your first job?
Your route into tech could help a young person understand where to start, especially if it wasn’t a straight line.

What happens when you don’t know the answer?
Show them that successful careers aren’t about knowing everything. They’re about staying curious, asking questions and continuing to learn.

Which skills really matter?
Help them see beyond qualifications and discover the human and technical skills that really make a difference at work.

Do you need to be brilliant at coding?
Help challenge assumptions about tech and open their eyes to the huge range of roles, skills and people the industry needs.

Could someone like me actually belong in this industry?
Sometimes seeing what’s possible starts with meeting someone who believes it is. Your experience could help them see a place for themselves in tech.

For a young person considering their future, having someone to ask these questions can make a huge difference.
IntoTech connects young people aged 14–16 with people already working in technology, so they can go beyond job descriptions and career websites and talk to someone who knows what the industry is really like.
Through one-to-one online mentoring, they can ask questions, explore different career paths and discover the skills and opportunities they might never have considered. Because sometimes, understanding what’s possible starts with talking to someone who’s already doing it.
That’s where you come in.
One conversation can change how a young person sees their future.
Having someone to talk to who has already taken those first steps can make a huge difference.
A mentor doesn’t need to have all the answers. By sharing your experiences, challenges, and lessons, you can help a young person discover new possibilities, recognise their strengths, and feel more confident about what comes next.
Hear from Luke about the difference having a mentor can make.
Your experience could be the conversation that inspires their next step.
