Although we’ve been marking our anniversary throughout the year by publishing a microsite, a video and stories from founders, long-standing mentors and mentees, our biggest celebration will be on Thursday 26 October with an awards event in London.
On the eve of National Mentoring Day, the event will celebrate the power of mentoring and bring together partners, mentors and mentees who’ve worked with Brightside over the last twenty years.
As an impact-led organisation, making sure we have a positive impact on the 150,000+ young people we’ve worked with is crucially important to us. The awards will recognise mentees who’ve been dedicated and committed, made incredible achievements, and broken barriers along the way. We’ll also recognise the mentors who’ve had such a positive impact and the partners who’ve shown outstanding commitment to online mentoring.
We received almost 300 nominations across our six categories and sent shortlists to our Youth Board for them to select the winners. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, so keep an eye on our social media to find out more.
There’s no better way to celebrate our 20th year as a charity than highlighting the brilliant work of our partners, our mentors and, most especially, the brilliant young people we work with.
