In a recent evaluation, 87% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they felt able to access appropriate support via online mentoring as opposed to face-to-face mentoring contact.
“The best thing about mentoring was having a new perspective. While people who know me can give advice, sometimes it can be biased and so I don’t feel as inclined to trust it, but mentoring was different. It was also a very easy process, I liked the format of the website as it was simple to navigate.” Mentee
“Online mentoring provides a safe space for students to ask questions they might not otherwise ask and get tailored advice and support from a trained mentor. A relationship with a mentor allows students to develop their confidence and communication skills and we have seen many success stories through our time working with Brightside.” Laura Bruce, Acting Head of Programmes and Partnerships, The Sutton Trust

Thanks to my mentor, I have a new drive to succeed both personally and in terms of future career prospects. I now set myself goals which I once thought were impossible. I am now studying Law and Politics at University of Manchester, my first choice university. I credit this to the constant support and encouragement of my mentor and Brightside. My mentoring experience was invaluable.
