What a day! Our Youth Board takeover for National Mentoring Day

Yesterday was National Mentoring Day, a day created to recognise and celebrate the incredible impact of mentoring.

What better way for us to celebrate it than to let our Youth Board loose on our social media channels? Young people are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re so proud to work with such an inspiring and motivated Youth Board.

Take a look at our Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn feeds to see the day unfold.

They began by introducing themselves and telling the world why they decided to join our Youth Board through videos, posts and blogs. They then gave out advice to young people, ran polls and posted snapshots of their daily lives at university.

Some of our favourite quotes were:

“Mentoring was like swimming in uncharted territory for me. I shouldn’t have worried: it was fabulous,” Nem said in his blog.

Cherish said, “Apply for absolutely everything, even if you think that you can’t get it, because you never know.”
Sadhvi said, “Make sure you talk to as many people as you can and get the right support for you.”

Emma wrote, “Even applying for a job is a job. Having a mentor that I could discuss interviews and CVs was a massive help.”

A huge shout out to Cherish, Sadhvi, David, Morayo, Kamaria, Elicia, Nem and Emma for making yesterday such a success. We love working with you!
